what family of engines does my 5.3l belong to?

'08 5.3l 4WD Silverado, 3.73 rear.

1. What's the easiest and/or cheapest ways to boost low-end torque?
2. What are the stock cam's specs?
3. Does a cam swap void warranty, even if I use a GM grind?
Or if I let the stealership do the work?

I'm new to Chevy. I haven't owned one since my first car, a '78 Camaro w/305. It was quite a turd, but I like this Silverado a lot. It's a good upgrade from the vanilla cars & trucks Chevy made since my Camaro. I just think it ccould be stronger.
