What kind of mileage with the 6.0L?
 

I'm looking to buy a newer truck this coming spring; my main concern will be fuel mileage.... I want a crew cab (have kids), can't afforda diesel, wouldget a half ton but would like a 3/4 ton for plowing snow. I've been looking at the 2500 with a 6.0L. I run 30 miles oneway to my full time job onstate roads (55 m.p.h) and I really baby the gas on my current truck and plan to do the same with a new truck.
So what kind of fuel mileage are you guys getting out of your 6.0s? Anyone using a power programer or a chip, what kind of fuel mileage with those??

my dads 06 2500 6.0 gets about 14.5 hiway...maybe 15 if really babied...12 or so pulling

I have a 02 2500 extended cab4x4, I get 13.3 MPGand worse when towing. My motor is completely stock.

thats probably about right for a 4x4...

I get about 17 or so highway, in the summer (00 sierra 2500 HD 4x4 stock with 4.10's, 100,000 or so miles)that's also driving like the go pedal is a cracked egg.
