what should i do first?
i was off roading last weekend with some friends and my wife i i got stuck in the mud. once we got out i started to reconsider what i wanted to do to my truck next. i was going to install a light bar and 4 off road lights. but now i am thinking about doing the winch and winch mount first. i already already put the switches in for the lights but nothing else. to get the lights, light bar, battery, and battery mount is about $800. the total cost for the winch and winch mount is $1300 plus shipping. i can only do one at a time. any suggestions?[/align]

the winch is more practicle... do u have good tires? thats what u may want to consider first... w/o that you could get stuck in anything. Lights are not a necessity if you cannot get your truck out of the ditch!

Another option. You can go with a mile marker winch to save money, and they have performed as well as the top names in head to head tests. Or, you can go with a poor mans winch (2000k come a long for $40 plus chain). You can get chain all daylong at a flea market for cheap. You can save money for the winch later. Then you can still get the lights. I have used the come along for 17 years with good results. Just get a quality one, don't go cheap. The cheap ones break fast. I don't go offroad much now, but from experience I keep 100 foot chain an a come along in my truck anyways.

Yes, Good question, as i was wondering the same thing. I'm thinking about2 options. 1. Volant Cold air intake $260.00 2. Catback system either by Flowmaster w/ 50 series mufflers (single in, dual out) or Gibson Catback system, which i haven't figured if its cheaper to buy it and get it installed or have custom exhaust work done and just use the 50 series or Magna Flow mufflers. I got 1 price of $420.00 installed, and they bend the tailpipes. The CAI is cheaper but don't they work hand in hand? I was also thinking just replacing the stock muffler with a 50 series Flowmaster muffler and leave the original exhaust on. Please let me know what ya think. Thanx, Jim

your best bet is to find a local shop that will let you bring in your own stuff. i picked up 2 40 series for 80 bucks and it cost me another 60 to have the shop weld them in for me. and thats duels with a muffler to each pipe.

i have good tires. 35"procomp muddterians and a 6" lift. i like chevy1224 answer. makes sense. smoke20 i was looking at a warn 9.5xp with the semi hidden mount. i will be getting chains and stakes and such shortly after i get the winch.
