Default what tires should i get?

well, i've finally managed to wear down my free bfg all terrains (too aggressive for my dad... but that's another story) and its time for new tires... i'd like to get some slightly more aggressive tires, but not anything like buckshots (they ride like hell)... soooo... the choice is up to you... size will be 265/75/r16... slightly taller and narrower than my 275/70/r16s

Yeh I would have to say that if you were doing a lot of muddin' that the BFG M/T would be the way to go. But if you are going to be on the road (freeway) for any length of time get the cooper STT's I think that they are a little more stiff in the sidewalls and will probably wear a little better. This from a guy that went through 4 sets of rear tires in a year! yeh I have a big right foot.

I would get a set of Goodyear MTR's. They are awsome tires and are much better then the BFG Mudds I have now.

I say the BFG muds. I had a set of them in 35" and they lasted over 60000 miles. Also from the tires you listed they did the best in a mud tire test put on by "peterson's 4 wheel and off road" a few years ago.

i was kind of leaning towards bfg mud terrains just because i was impressed with my all terrains, but im not impressed with the tread life... there's 27,000 miles on those tires and they're worn... ridiculous

If you like the All Terrain T/A then I suggest you really consider staying with that tire. I love my BFG ATs! Mud tires are to noisy, I can live with out the tire whine.I moved up to 285 75 16 without any mods and friend went all the way to 305s with minor adjustments and a slight body trim. The 305s look good! I might go that way next time round but I only have 45,139 miles on my tires and ~.370 left on the tread. (Yes I just measured)
