Not sure what year but the only thing they were used for back in those days were for emissions.

I've got a computer... barely, and it's a 92. I don't think you should worry too much about it on an 85... It's probably been removed or broke anyways

Just curious, but why would you like to know?

I have read since I posted this that 87 was probably the start of computer-brain with efi... if that is correct...

I prefer 73-79 K20-K2500 chev-gmc trucks but they are getting tougher to find with the AC working,so I might have to buy a newer truck but I'd rather not cuz I prefer the older 14 bolt rear ends and they stop being used in 82...

I can swap in my old housing but I'm trying to find a truck with a 3:73 ratio,my current housings are 4.10's... Need a truck with a 4 gear and the 3:73's as I plan on using it on the road-gas mileage for a few years and then make into a new wood truck... then buy a new one, well maybe...

I just feel better with a older less complicated truck and of course they are cheaper to purchase as well... they are easy to work on as well... and very dependable...

Engines were not computer controlled until the 1988 model year.
