Whats Best?...
That's how any decent supercharger is. If there was boost lag in a supercharger there wouldn't be any point in having a supercharger. You could just slap a turbo kit on there and crank out way more power. Superchargers are designed for instantaneous off the line power. Ofcourse they do crank out more boost as you go but the boost is there as soon as you hit WOT.
Your truck sounds really nice man. I have a 5 speed manual too and after 5 years this month of abuse it's about to die. My local performance/dyno shop is looking into stage 1 or up clutches for me, I'll let ya know what I find out.

what i meant was, the other ones use rpms to bring up their boost. I know that the difference is slight but if you have an automatic, the whipple is the way to go. the others are better for manuals. so all in all I prefer the whipple style for the "constant" non rpm dependent boost.
hope that cleared it up.
Taro - if you already have the diablo programmer look into STS Turbo. They recieved GM's award for aftermarket parts. They rcommend a Diablo tune.
As for supercharger vs. turbo.....superchargers increase boost strictly in relation to engine RPM, ie, you will not achieve full boost until just before redline. Turbo's however can reach full boost long before redline, STS achieves 6 lbs @ 3000 rpm. Superchargers are a drag on the system because they are belt driven; we all know what happens when a belt breaks. There is much controversy between superchargers and turbo but there is more real world testing documentation in support of turbos than superchargers for reliability and ease of maintinence.
The choice is yours, but, make sure you research unbiased sources.
