Default Wheels and tires

I have a 2000 GMC 1500 4wd, and I was wondering what is the biggest tires and wheels I can put on it, it has a 3inch lift, I currently have 305 r70 on factory rims but want to get some nicer rims, any help would be appreciated, I was mainly wondering if I should buy 8, 9, or 10 inch wide rims, what do ya'll think.

Thanks in advance,
Joey

usually with a 3 in. lift the standard is 33x12.50xrim size or 305/75Rsize rim. but one of my buddies fit 35x12.50x16 on his truck with cut fenders...depends on if you cut or not

you may be able to fit 35x 12.50 on 10 inch wide rims with a minor bumper trim and minor rear of the front fender modification.

Thanks alot guys, I'll stick with the 33 on some new 10 inch rims until I can afford 6 more inches of lift.

Also depends on the wheel diameter, on 17" rims, 285/70/17 is 33" - which what I have, so make sure you calculate properly. A good site to help figure it out is www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

10' wheels? How would that ride? The same as 17's with 33s?

10" wide rims will ride no different than stock, they just look better on a 12" wide tire. you don't get the big bulge on the side with them.
