Will this tire fit?

Hey guys i own a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71. It has a leveling kit already on it. I want to upgrade my wheels and tires. The stock tire is a 265/70/17. Im planning on keeping the wheel size to 17 but want to beef up the tire. I was thinking a 285/70/17 but wasnt sure if i would need to put a lift kit on it. Maybe just a couple inch body lift? I dont want to go crazy just a good beefy look. Maybe a different tire size? Any info would be a huge help. Thanks, Logan

also, if i do lift it with just a 2 or 3inch body lift can i still use my hitch? Im finding mixed information

That is the tire size that Rough Country recommends after their 2" leveling kit on '07 & up 1500's. I'm going to use that leveling kit when I wear out the stock tires on my '08 & I'll upgrade a couple tire sizes too.

Do you know the required backspacing on the wheels?

I think they are implying the stock wheels can be used with that size tire. So I assume you could just get the same backspacing as the stock tire & be OK. Of ccourse I'm making an assumption there. But you could always call Rough Country's tech line. They'd tell you for sure. I'll be using my stock 17's.

IDK if you've noticed, but people on this board really don't like to answer tire questions. Don't really know the reason for that.

All depends if you mind a lil rubbage or not. Ive seen 33s on that body with a levelin kit and just rubbed at full lock. And that was on aftermarket 17s.
