Window leak I think....
Argon or anyone with experience in GM trucks. I have a leak somewhere and I think it is my windshield. My floor is almost always damp but I can't figure out where it is coming from. Where should I look? A/C line dripping condensation from somewhere I can't see? Should I pull the plastic off from the ouside bottom of windshield and look for something (crack, bad rubber seal, ect...).
Thanks! |
RE: Window leak I think....
My Saturn did that when I ran the air allot. It might be the heater corr.

LET THE FUN BEGIN..
first, establish what it is..pull the carpet back.. coolant will be slimy/sweet of course..rain water usually a bit murky/sandy....a/c water clean. its trhe passenger floor?..then i'd be inclined to say a/c... does it drip water outside as it should? |
RE: Window leak I think....
No smell, no slime. Drivers side. Seems clean but I could be wrong. I assumed it was the windshield. Its not bad, but it seems like its always damp under the rubber mat I have. And only the drivers side. I am not sure about the A/C drip on the outside but i will check. Anything to do with the defroster you think?

RE: Window leak I think....
no,its probably rain if its drivers side.
has it ever had a windshield? |
RE: Window leak I think....
Yeah I think so. The little badge and fine print on the windshield does not match the other windows. Its some off-brand I think. Am I going to have to have it pulled and resealed?

RE: Window leak I think....
maybe...try this...windows up,a/c on high and recirc...spray some water/soap around th glass edges and look for bubbles

RE: Window leak I think....
HaHA tape all your seams first LOL

Lol, ok hopefully I can do this in the garage. My neighbors might think I am nuts. "Gee Jay what are you doing?" "I am blowing bubbles, do you mind!?" lol.
Ok, seriously I will try your technique this weekend. I am pulling the cowl apart because I would assume since the floor is damp and there are no other signs of moisture in or around the dash that the problem is probably in the lower driverside area of the window. I'll let you know what I find. Thanks Argon |
