Is it worth the money???
I have a 2006 Silverado 2wd that i'm considering adding a K@N intake and a Flowmaster Dual (not true) exhaust to help with fuel economy...its roughly $700-800 to add them...does it really make a difference with fuel economy? Worth the cash?

That is a little pricey!! The K&N set up should only cost bout 240. The exhaust should only run bout 260. And those are full price. It is worth it as I mean that it will pay for it self. You will get an extra 2-3 miles per gallon. After putting it on, dont think you will notice that much of a difference right from the get go. Let the computer adjust to it, that will take a few days. You will notice that the exhaust seems to get louder and perform better.

Do the calculations on how far you will have to drive on the current fuel prices to make up that difference, what you will find is that it will take ALOT of miles

I went to a shop that already had the set up. But I got the super truck exhaust. It exits in front of the tire.

I would go to a muffler shop before I did another bolt on. And I bought my K&N CAI for $230.00 shipping included. Look on Ebay. There are other CAI out there too. For those prices does that include the instalation charges? If so that is way too high. CAI took me 30 minutes. Catback system a day after drinking and goofing off... plus having Stainless Steel tips welded on at a muffler shop.

Its all bolt on. There is a flange with 2 bolts that connects to the lead pipe to the muffler. From that flange to the back is all replaced. A 40 series is a loud 2 chamber muffler which is the most popular choice. A 50 or 70 and it gets quieter as it holds more chambers. Check this out. You can hear sound samples of Magnaflow to broaden your choices...http://www.magnaflow.com/04sound/tru...d/2007ava.html
