1982 Chevy K20 6.2 Body Restore

Hello,

I am new to this site, and looking for some fist hand experiences with replacement body panels. The 1982 K20 is my first truck. I have owned it since 1985. It was one of my farm trucks, until engine issues forced me to park it. The engine is another story, but not for today.
It now has a fresh rebuilt engine installed.
One of my daughters wants this as her ride. She is a Sr. in High School and had to have back surgery her freshman year and could not play sports anymore. So, I want to give the old truck a face lift and let her have some fun with it.
My question is has anyone had good luck with aftermarket body parts?
I am needing to purchase: new fenders, and inner fenders. both doors, and both bedsides(8 ft with a fuel door on each side). Rockers and cab corners. Plus a tailgate. I am leaning towards buying OEM GM body parts unless someone can give me fist hand experience of high quality aftermarket parts. I want heavy metal and excellent fit.
If I blast the frame and completely refresh the cab and spend $$ on paint. I want good body parts to last another 35 years if it is not going to be worked anymore.
Please give me your good and bad experiences with aftermarket body parts and let me know if you done it again if you would do the same or buy OEM.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you.

Lance
