Where's the heater valve
I have a '93 Dakota (200K). My father-in-law had someone replace the heater core several years ago and he did a REALLY crummy job. It worked for a while and now no heat. We have flushed it several time with a flush kit but still no heat. Someone suggsted the heater valve. I got one from Advance Auto Parts but neither I nor the guy at AAP could find it. Does anyone know where it should be located? Yes, I have looked at the firewall. My father-in-law also has a '91 Dakota. I went out last night to look to see if that truck has one and I couldn't find it ... not under the dash or in the engine compartment. Any help would be appreciated.

The only ones I've seen are inline on a heater hose, and has a vac line on the top..I'll take a look later this morning and post back. If it's where I'm thinking, it's inside somewhat behind the ashtray, against the fire wall.......

RovinAround,
Thanks for looking. I'll look behind the ashtray and see if maybe I just overlooked it. |
Ok, so what I was thinking of was just a vac regulator. I don't know where the damned thing is...LOL!! There's only so many places it can be.......I'll investigate more a bit later. This is a part out truck, so it's all coming out anyways...
In the meantime.. I don't know about AAP...but AutoZone can pull up diagrams on stuff like this, if you have one near you, it's a worthwhile stop. Either that, or head to your local library. They should have a Chilton's in the reference section. ~Rovin |
RovinAround,
Thanks for looking and your suggestions. I looked again (flashlight in hand) and I still couldn't find it. I'll definitely call AutoZone and check the local library for a diagram. I really appreciate your time and opinion. If I find out where it is located, I'll reply at a later date. Thanks again. |
