<IMG src=smileys/smiley7.gif border="0"> Has anyone here experienced a problem with the malfunction indicator light on the dashboard? My truck has been back to the dealer twice and they are unable to come up with any vaild reason, as a matter of fact they claim the light was off this second trip in and asked who was fuleing the vehicle up. I am a little annoyed was just wondering if any of you have experienced or know of anyone who has had this problem. Donna

 

In the first 750 miles of my new '04 ram 1500 (4.7), I had the check engine light on 3 times. First time I was told the gas cap gasket was torn and replaced. Less than 1/2 tank of gas later, indicator light was back on. this time a smoke test suggested loose hoses at the evaporative cannister. 200 miles later, the light returned. They kept it a 1 1/2 days, and decided the leak pump (I was told this maintains/monitors fuel system pressure) was replaced. 4500 miles later, the problem has not returned.
