drag link

Can someone tell me what a drag link is? I have a 2005 Dodge 2500 making a noise when i hit the slightest bumps. The dealer told me the drag links needs to be replaced. I looked for parts called a drag link and haven't had any luck Any ideas?

RE: drag link

slang for a "center link"..what the idler arm and such bolts too...it'd have to be loose as hell to make your noise though

The drag link is the first rod that is moved when you turn the steering wheel.

RE: drag link

Term drag linkrefers to the two sleeved bolts that connect the center link arm to the steering knuckles. When I took my '06 in for servicing in August they informed me there was a recall to replace the center link and drag links and all bushings. Any of these bolts or bushings worn will really make a noise at the slightest movement.
