is this a good deal?

Im looking into buying a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel. Its a club cab with a camper on the back. Im looking for a first truck, im 15. It has a whopping 268,000miles on it. The transmission was rebuilt, the interior is ok, 6.6 liter i believe. small bedside damage, nothing to mention. It need new tires badly, 2 new batteries, and the drivers seat needs to be restuffed or something. It seemed to run and drive ok. The guy is asking $4,000 for it. I've figured that new tires and batteries would be about 1,000. so im i would be in it 5k. Any suggestions? do i grab it? let it go? will i find better deals in the future? ive alredy looked on kelley, and NADA. its way below value but those sites run a little high.

Welcome to the site. With that many miles I would keep looking, it's going to nickel and dime you. Just my 2.cents little bro.

For me, not so good deal because you still need to spend money to change some parts. Try searching on ebay.

I would say keep looking, you can find other diesel trucks(if thats what you want) for less than that and $5000 is way too much to be spending on a truck with over 250,000 miles. The bed damage would turn me off on it quickly just because I like my vehicles to look good. Keep looking man. Try Craigslist
