Ring and Pinion Gear suggestions, please.

For starters, I have a 2000 Ram 2500 4x4 with the 5.9l magnum V8. The engine is unmodified as of yet (only minor modifications planned in the near future, but nothing as of yet or prior to axle gear changing). Currently it has about 6 inches of lift, custom front bumper and 15,500lb front winch (both of which add a bit of front weight to an already heavy truck). I have 35" tires on it, and as might be expected a rather sluggish get up and go to it. I havent looked at the gears currently in the truck but stock info on my VIN states that I currently have 3.55 gears in it, and I need to change this. So, I am curious as to what other people might suggest would be a good upgrade to my ring and pinions?

Thru some basic calculators online it has been suggested that 4.30s would get me close to stock performance currently, and a friend of mine has suggested that I go with 4.56s. However my plans in the next 6-12 months is to change the 35" tires to 38"-39" tires. Personally I am thinking maybe 4.88s or 5.13s to help compensate for this but would like anyone's opinions here that may have experience in this area with a similar truck (as to me the 5.9l V8 is kind of a minimum engine for a truck this heavy to start with).

A few final thoughts. This is not a daily driver and will rarely ever see the highway. I am mainly building this for off-roading, but will of course need to drive it to get to those areas, and probably only on roads around 45-50 mph max, and I am not overly worried with the fuel economy (as its a gas hog no matter what). In my area almost all the off roading is mountainous mud running (no rock crawling). After I rebuild the axles I may look into changing out the cam to shift my power range a bit (opinions on this would also be helpful for the future), but for starters I really need some help and input on possible good gear range choices to go with. If it matters I will be putting a Dana Spicer Power locker in the rear but no locker up front for now.

Current examples you guys may have already tried, currently use or know of would be great.

Thanks for any information you guys can provide here.
