Default Smaller truck for light hauling and commuting

Hi all! Brand new to the site and need some advice. I have a 2001 dodge ram slt 2500 diesel longbed which I love. Unfortunately I only use to haul my 3 horse gooseneck trailer because it's so big. I also have a Honda fit to commute about 40 miles a day. I'm downsizing to a much smaller bumper pull trailer (about 4000 lbs full)and am considering replacing both my vehicles with one. Any recommendations?

If you are still hauling 4000 lbs, you still want at least a 1500 full sized pickup....in my mind anyways.
