Transmission Bolt on???

Well, As I was driving my boss's truck today, the clutch went out... AGAIN!
He has 68,000 miles on the truck itself and the fourth clutch is now being installed. A little ridiculous to say the least. It is a 98 Ram 2500 with the V10 and the 5 speed. What tranny can he get that will bolt right on and WILL LAST??? He does use it as a snowplow truck, but c'mon this is stupid.

sounds to me like your boss has some underlaying problem. thats is just crazy 4 clutches in 70k miles. either that or someone doesnt know how to drive stick. wish i had an answer but im tranny retarded

I have never seen the truck by itself. It is always either pulling a loaded trailer or has a snowplow on the front. Or both!

He does know how to drive a stick, I know this because... well I work on a golf course and half of our equipment is automotive style manual. He's also 58 years old and has always had manual vehicles.

Exactly...the underlaying problem is (are your ready?) IT"S A DODGE! They can't get the transmission thing right!
If there was a way to mate a Cummins and an Allison wow what a combo!!!!

The problem is that it is a company truck and in the present economy the owner (who drives a yellow Corvette Z06) doesn't want to spend the money on a new Duramax for him
