Swing out spare tire carrier
Hey guys! I'm kind of new to this forum so I'm not sure if this topic has been done a millions time over....
So I'm rocking out a 1993 K1500 Silverado. Standard cab, short box. its defintely somewhat of a project truck but I do drive it everyday when I put my Camaro away in the winter. I've been messing around with the idea of fabricating a swing out spare tire carrier that would go behind the tailgate (duh). It seems much cheaper to make one myself. Now I don't do much metal work, but I do have friends but limited tools. Ive looked at a few images of some interesting designs. Has anyone here ever pursued this one?? or maybe just bought one and mounted it?? Any instructions and/or tips ?? and good ideas?? Im mostly concerned with how I would mount this thing. Maybe even something that could also hold a spare gas tank and/or jack!? kind like this - Body Armor 5294 Spare Tire Carrier Linkage - Powdercoated Black, Steel, Direct Fit thanks guys !! |
