90s F-150s?

Howdy, I need a truck for the summer that can take me out to rig site. I only have bout 6000 dollars. It has to be 4WD but Id like to use it as my every day car. I was thinkin like a Bronco or a 90s F-150. Suggestions?

Admittedly my 86 F150 5.0L4WD was a pile of crap by the time it was 18 years old (never garaged). But it had multipoint fuel injection (all at once instead of sequential) and a dumb ECU making itimpossible to tell if it had a bad injector or which one(s). But other than running rough and its always rubbery steering, it never had any internal engine or transmission problems.

A95 F250HD 5.8L2WD truck at work has been pretty much faultless in 139,000 miles over 12 years. Never any problems with engine or autoODtransmission. It runs great, no rust, and A/C still works untouched. It's for sale in another forum here, with all terrain tires, but just 1 wheel drive (limited slip was hard to find then).

It remains to be seen if a 2008 2500 6.0L4WD in my avatarwas a wise replacement for the work truck (only 700 miles).

If you are interested my Grandmother has an 89 model F-150 4X4 with 47000 original miles for sale. It belonged to my Grandpa and he passed away this year, she does not use the truck and wants to sell it. email me at preeces@bellsouth.net if interested. I have pictures.
