95 f150 engine problem

installed new gaskets in top end of 95 f150, 5.0L, head, and intake gaskets. when i went to fill the radiator, it doesnt fill up and sounds like the water is going into motor, drained oil and it is full of water. what did I do wrong?

my guess would be is that you cracked the engine block.

let me ask this why did you have to change the gaskets

rodent66 08-08-2009 09:04 PM

while driving, it lost power, then idle really rough, found muddy water in the radiator, assumed it was the head gasket, so I changed all the gaskets while I was at it. When I was done and went to flush the radiator, it wouldnt fill up and all the water went into the motor to the point it came out the oil dipstick tube.

Before I got my F-150, I had a 93' Nissan Frontier. I had the same problem. I had water draining into my oil. We changed the head gaskets and even poured "Stop Leak" into the radiator, but we were unable to fix the problem. We later found out that the headers were worped. SOOOO before you even think of changin the block out or gettin another engine, I would see if your headers are warped or if there is a crack in them.

Thanks,
brandon

I had a similar experience with a old 99f150 I drove. It turned out to be a cracked block, hand to get a new engine. Did you figure out what your proglem is?

I recently took my 95 f150. Apparently a defect in the engine causes the problem and the engine was replaced with 11000 miles on it. The dealer said that ford was trying to cut cost and used a different distributor for an internal engine part that has been failing. I love the truck and hope it is resolved....please give me suggestions.

Sounds like a cracked block or possible a warped head?

Before you changed the gaskets, did you check the oil? Did the oil look normal?
