brake problems and a rough start

on my 1980 f150 i replaced my drivers side front hard brake line and flex hose because the old hose had a hole and the hard line was orange with rust, i got a hard line from the junkyard and bought a new flex hose from lordco. i replaced both lines. i also swaped the master cylinder from a 1982 f150. i filled up my master cylinder to the top and pumped the brakes for a few minutes to push through whatever was going to come out and flush the line but nothing came out. i tried pumping for 5 minutes or so and still not one drop? any ideas?

also if the engine has been run for 5 mins or more i can shut it off and fire it up no problem but when the engine has been sitting for a day or more and the engine is cold it takes 30+ seconds sometimes to fire up. sometimes when it does the carb spits gas out the top, it currently has no air cleaner. i thought this might be an ignition timing issue so i timed it today, it was at 10 to 12BTDC and the sticker says to have it at 6 unfortionatly that was a little while ago and the engine is still warm so i cant see if adjusting it made a difference. ive been working on this truck for a while now and its almost road worthy but the starting is something i cant take a chance on i need a reliable ride any suggestions would help

thanks
