F150 Real World MPG

Seriously looking at either an F150 or a Ram 1500, but I'm very skeptical of the gas mileage for both trucks. I do not do any major towing or hauling, I just love the looks of both trucks. I hear reports of MPG in the low teens for an F150, and would like to know what everyone here has experienced.

RE: F150 Real World MPG

Well I have had both trucks, a 2005 dodge ram 1500 hemi and I currently have a 2006 f150. The dodge got the lowest of 12 mpg and highest at 14. The ford averages 14.8 and has had a low of 14.1 and a high of 17 and I have 7000 miles on it and the dodge had 10000. The ford also had the 5.4L so there you have it.

Thanks for the info. I've always heard Dodge's get poor mpg, but I am curious to hear from anyone who knows anything about the multi-displacement Hemi and how much it improves fuel mileage.

I get 15 around town with my 05 Z71 Sierra, 5.3L crew cab.
