Installing Daytime Running Lights on a 1997-F150

I'm working on a little Christmas project...trying to install the module that activates DRL on a '97 F-150. A litttle research says the module p/n is F43Z-15A272-A or a Dorman 704-201. Does anyone know if that is the right p/n for a '97?

Next question I hope someone can help with is where in the world is the connector that the module should plug into? We think it is located directly behind the left headlight, but did not find it there. There is one just behind the bumper which is low and very accessable and there are three connectors lying under the air filter housing, but were not sure any of those was the right one. Since we don't have the module yet, we do not know how many pins it has?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Gerald

Here is an update on this: Today we found a metal can about 1 1/2" x 2" x 2" attached with two 8mm bolts to a bracket that is located as the picture below shows. (The picture came from another post on this topic which was showing how to DISABLE the DRL feature. The box we found is near the DRL module which is in the picture to be unplugged.)

There appears to be no connector for a wire on the can, just a wire going through the side. Maybe the connector is inside the can? The bolts are not easy to get to and we ran out of time, but this may be the right place?

Does anybody have any experience with this?

Thanks.

Well, yet another update...today, we had time to remove the "can" we found in the last post. It turned out to be a "SENSOR AND BRACKET ASY. (AIRBAG FRONT)". So, we are back to square one!

We are working on the theory that the DRL capability is built-in, but disabled in trucks delivered in the USA. (Canadian trucks must have it activated when delivered there.) However, it is looking like this particular truck does not have the DRL connector in the LF grill area where many posts on this topic have said it should be.

Anyone out there know something about this?????? Help!!!!

Gerald
