hey guys i bought a 1985 ford f150 with a 300 cu. straight 6 and the 4 speed granny gear. the guy i bought it from sed he put a 1979 straight 6 from another f150. the thing is though im thinking that he never did but im not shor. because im preaty shor the 1979 300 stright 6 didnt have an electronic choke on the carburator, but the carb on the motor does have one. i was thinking though he put a new carburator on a 1979 straight 6.

how can a tell if i have a 1979 or a 1985 300 straight 6?
i cant find the vin code on the motor block, where is it?
and if there isnt one what are some other things that would conclude that its a 1979 not a 1985?

please let me know everything and post pictures of posibble
