Reinforced bumper vs Brushguard

I was thinking of getting a reinforced bumper but with the economy and price of stuff and I don't make a fortune I thought about a Brush guard
The reason I wanted a reinforce bumper was.
1. protects my vehicle from animals that may appear along with other drivers. 2. a 2" receiver in front can serve many purposes. mount a wench you can pull from either end. mount a step and you can work under the engine without out a stand or in emergency situations. This has nothing to do with me but for those tight situations when backing a trailer you could swap it and push it in if you can't back it in.

I figure a reinforce bumper being attached to the frame directly so no worries about you running into something and it bending the brushguard or receiver.
The downside is weight. I see these on 3/4 ton trucks but is it to much for a 1/2ton?

Any suggestions

To me, getting a brush/grille guard can definitely protect the front-end of your rig. My brother has the Tough Country brush guard on his F150, and it looks good. The design is contoured around the headlights.

does the front sqat down? is it just a brush guard or something heavier duty?
