Straight pipes?

Hey guys! I have a 98 Ford f150 and am sincerely interested in putting some type of exhaust on it. At the moment, the muffler is cut off and the pipe only goes to about the back of the cab/beginning of the bed underneath the truck. The truck sounds pretty nice but is WAY too loud in the cab . Long story short i took it to a mechanic to diagnose a noise which turned out to be the starter clanking on the flexplate and the idiot told me the cat was plugged. So I sliced a good sized hole in the cat to check it out and sure enough the cat was fine. So now I have a hole in a perfectly good catalytic converter. This mistake has made the truck atleast 2x louder as well. I'm looking to weld up the converter and run straight pipes out the back, prefferebly duals . Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about it, and if so how it might sound.

Thanks! -Brandon
