2011 F350 Pulling Hard

Here's a video of pulling our heavy fifth wheel out of one of our favorite camping spots. The road is steep, rocky and has a couple of sand portions.

CRAZY !!!! Awesome set up, impressive.... WELCOME to the site. Glad your here and I love the video. It would make an awesome clip in a SuperDuty commercial. Complements to the camera person too.

Enjoy your stay

Thanks Glen! My wife and kids rode up the hill on their ATV's ahead of me. I drop all the water and weight I can before climbing out of that area every year. The video really doesn't do it justice, there are always trucks getting stuck and other trucks pulling them out.

Here's us loading the toy hauler on top of the hill. The truck pulls everything so well:

Judging by your videos, it looks like you love your 2011 F350 just as much as we love ours, possibly more! Keep em' coming!

Thanks for the comment. The trucks these days are just awesome. All the big three make incredibly capable and comfortable trucks and I'm just glad to have one. I'm not into the "mine is better than yours" noise that is out there. Competition makes them all better and we are the beneficiaries.

Love that Boss plow on the front of your Sierra. I've always wanted to try that. For now I just plow with the ATV ;) lol

Ha... I've got a plow on our Yamaha Grizzly as well, but it sure as hell wasn't started this winter!

How do you like the fuel economy on that beast? It impresses me every time I'm in charge of filling the tank

Fuel economy has come back some with the 6.7L engine. I was ready to pull the trigger in '08 with a 6.4L but the initial reports were disappointing. So I drove my 2000 Excursion for another 3 years while Ford worked it out.

In this truck I get 18-20 strictly on the highway when my speeds are 65ish. I have bigger/wider tires so they take a toll. When I'm just running around town, I'm getting 15-16 and when towing my monster trailer I get 10. Come to find out my trailer's three axles were out of alignment badly and wearing out tires so that had to be killing my towing mileage. I've fixed that and am looking forward to seeing if I can get another MPG or two on the next trip.

My buddy has a '04 Duramax and pulls a slightly lighter trailer. He's getting about the same numbers as me loaded and unloaded. I am looking forward to seeing how the DPF delete kits behave. If I didn't have to worry about that, I'll bet I'd get another 2 MPG's. The DEF, on the other hand, is no big deal at all. Some people make a huge issue out of it but it costs $20 every 5,000 miles and helps with emissions. I'm okay with that.
