Question Fuel Filter

89 F250 7.5.....Is there a fuel filter on this truck? And if so where the heck is it? Chilton manual makes no mention of a filter outside of a diesel truck. I've looked along the frame but don't seem to see one.

Apparently the factory didn't provide any sort of inline filters on the frame rail; there is one in the tank, (screen) and one at the carb inlet, that's all.

Thanks. It's so convenient to have a screen/filter IN the tank.

The screen filter in the tank is pretty much standard on an gas or diesel engine. The screen filter only filters larger particles that may get in the tank The screen is a very low micron filter.
The filter at the carb is a much higher micron filter to stop those smaller microscopic impurities that may get in the fuel.

Ideally, an Inline fuel filter on the frame rail would be much more convenient.

There is an inline fuel filter. My neighbor replaced it for me. He said it was on the drivers side not far from the firewall.
