My 1991 ranger has been loosing a lot of rad fluid lately, ive replaced the radiator, some of the hoses, tightened the clmps, replaced the thermostat and replacedits the rad cap, but the tank is always empty and when you get out of the truck it smells like rad fluid sometimes. what else can i check??

also, my motor makes a ticking noise, mostly when it first gets going, but not always, what can i check?

thanks for your help!

AS far as the ticking it could be allot of things, But the coolant sounds like it might be leaking from the heater corr. You might be able to try and get under the carpet on the passenger side to see if it wet. Dose it have heat and is it as hot as it was before the prob.?
