Newbee B3000 owner

As of a few hours ago I own a 2002 Ford Ranger with the word MAZDA on the tailgate, title, owner's manual and a few other places. Just Kidding. The VIN says it is a Dual Sport but I have no way of knowing and the only thing I know about the DS series was I heard somewhere that they had a 2" lift. I've dug around on the NET but have yet to find a definitive description of the differences. The DS series is also supposed to be more desirable (this one needs a lot of TLC before it will even approach 'desirable.')

So any thoughts or whatever would be appreciated.

hey im Lance and I was just gonna get back with you. I own a 2002 Mazda B3000 and mine is a dual sport. The only difference is the dual sport has a stock stance and sits up a little higher. Also the Mazda trucks are made by Ford Motor Company so they could have put the wrong tailgate but on the papers it says ford.

Hi Lance,

Yeah, mine is a Mazda made by Ford. But the only difference I know of between the B3000 and a Ford Ranger 3.0 V6 is the name plates. Mine started to run like crap shortly after I got it and I just found out last week (and fixed it) that the whole problem was clogged catalytic converters. Runs good now even though it has two cylinders that are a little low on compression. But for 145,000 miles, not bad. The DS also has larger tires, P275-70 vs P235-75 I think. That and the lift are the only things I know of.
