Serpentine tensioner replacement

I have a 99 Ranger with a 3.0L with A/C 5 speed 4x4 and need to replace the serpentine pulley tensioner (bearing) but the book I have (Chilton) says nothing about replacing it and am not sure how to remove it.

Does anyone have experience doing this and could give me some tips?

Thanks,
rat-a-tat-tat or maybe sis-coom-bah.. then how about brrrrrrrrr-bi-bop-ting-crash

I haven't ever done one but looking at the part on O'reilly's website it looks like a simple one bolt installation. There is probably going to be a line up pin of some sort on the back that keeps it from rotating so pay attention when you remove it. The one I saw in the picture looks like it has a torx type fastener through it. Probably a larger T-45, T-50, or T-55 - again I am guessing from looking at a picture of the part.

It was super simple. 15mm socket and it loosens counterclockwise. It is called the idler pulley.

Glad you got it fixed!
