I bought a 09 Silverado new, late last year and on several occasions now the odometer will go off and something will be written in the message center. The truck only has 5000 mile on it but it has been in the shop once already for a fuel sensor.

Back to the messages, I have seen them a few times now, the first time it said HELLO, I have also seen TROUBLE SLEEPING, and today was MIDGET to name a few.

I have probably missed a few while driving but really don't know, the first few times really got me off guard but I'm more excited about it now.

I called on star to see if they could be doing something like this and of coarse their answer was no. I don’t have a clue but have to think someone figured out how to tap into the computer some how as a joke. I haven't been quick enough to get my phone out for a picture, but i have started leaving my phone out from now on while driving in hopes of getting a picture.

My wife thought I was crazy until she saw the trouble sleeping note last weekend so at least she doesn’t believe I’ve gone nuts. LOL

sounds like someone got a hold of some way to reprogram the computer to randomly show these messages.........very interesting and kinda funny too........oh wait didnt you hear? GM made the 09 trucks with "personality" so it would keep you entertained on long trips. LOL............sorry couldnt resist.

 

Chris it is getting funny now, I want to get a picture and confront a dealer with the same questions. After they look at me like I'm stupid I will show them the picture.

Someone has to know what the hell is going on, it seems like you could plug into the computer and see any messages that had been written to me..
