2004 Silverado and squeaking brakes
Well I have a 2004 Silverado, with 4 wheel Disc brakes. Started yesterday out of the blue, I've got a squeaking noise coming from the brakes I believe. Sounds like the rear but not sure because when I make a turn it goes away. Go above 40 MPH and it either goes away or I just can't hear it anymore because of wind noise or what.
But anyways, I lifted the truck and spun all four wheels and none of them made a noise, so I take it that it needs vehicle weight to make the noise also. All the pads are still very new looking and dont believe I'm rubbing the wear indicator. If anyone has any idea's let me know. |
RE: 2004 Silverado and squeaking brakes
double check the squeekers(wear indicators) make sure theyre not touching the discs at all. if not its some body squeeking ive heard the 99-02 have some body squeeks to them but its probably just the wear indicators getting close to the rotors.

Thats weird the inner pads are more worn then the outers. But yea it was the wear stripe. I got new pads and installed them. Thanks for all your help!
