4.3 4x4 new clucth not working

I'm giving my buddy a hand with his 95ish 1500 4x4 4.3. He was having problems shifting, he thought it was the clucth. So he tore everything apart and he saw that the white plastic strap on the slave was broken too. He repleced the clutch, TOB, slave, the fork, and Flywheel. We put it back toghether and there is no action. What I mean is the TOB doesn't seem to touch the clutch diaphram, so the slave over extends and breaks the plastic strap again. We put a screw driver on the fork and pushed and it gives no resistance. Any ideas whats going on here?
Thanks,
J

Thanks for the suggestion, but the problem seems to be in the clutch not in the hydrualic system. The slave moves more than far enough. It seems to be where the TOB should touch the diaphgram but doesn't ever touch.

Ok...the fork or bearing must be in backwards..OR..the fork pivot is worn down way too much...pretty common, but I've never seen one worn so bad as the bearing won't hardly move

The TOB slides fine, it just never gets close enough to touch the clutch.
