4x4 not working?? 88 chevy
 

I have an 88 chevy cheyenne that i just bought. It has the 4.3 v6, and a 4 speed manual transmission. it doesn't go into 4 wheel drive though. What could be causing this?? I am planning on looking at it tonight, so just give me some ideas on what to look for.. Thanks
