adjusting torsion bars
Well I turned up my torsion bars today. Why does the passenger side max out before the drivers side. I got 4 full turns and it maxed out on the passenger side, and it looks like I could go another 4 or 5 turns on the drivers side.
Is this normal, or is the torsion bar on the passenger side worn out. The truck only has 25,000 miles on it. Thanks |
RE: adjusting torsion bars
Were they both equal when you began??
Also, remember to get the front end aligned after moving the height |
RE: adjusting torsion bars
Yea I have appointment for alignment Friday,
But about them being equal at first, if I turned them both one turn at a time keeped it the same, then no they weren't equal when I started. But I owned a 99 Silverado about 3 years ago, and had a shop turn mine up when I was getting new tires and the passenger side maxed out first on that one too! |
RE: adjusting torsion bars
I HIGHLY doubt you have a weak bar...I've seen 1...
Probably just normal tolerances... remember..the factory settings have to account for road-crown...a full gas tank, etc |
