Funny sound?
 

My 06 GMC Denali has developed a rattling noise. To me it seems like suspension..But, as I started to investigate, I found what to me seems like excessive play in the tail shaft of the transmission. But, this noise seems to only occur over rough terrain. Any suggestions???

Or maybe a better question would be...How much play should be in thetail shaftof the tranny??? I took the driveshaft out and I have about an 1/8"of play in all directions.

your ujoints could be going bad i had a problem with that once replaced the ujoints both of them play was gone and it didnt make that sound that will scare ya
