Hissing souns from brake pedal area

I pulled an evasive braking manuever the other day and the next day I developed a hissing sound anytime the brake pedal is depressed. The sound will remain as long as the pedal is depressed. I'm looking at a booster failure right? The check valve wouldn't cause the hissing would it.
How ifficult is the booster replacement?

Thanks gents.
Jake

Thanks Argon. I' referenced the Hanes and it looks fairly easy.
It's a 95 Z71, which brings me to my next question. How do I determine which brake system I have (JB-6 or JB-8)? Checkers only has a reanufactured JB-6 with no master cylinder.

Thanks
Jake
