OEM Headlight issue

2010 Silverado
regular headlight goes out. All I need to do to temp fix the problem is pop the hood, twist out the headlight bulb socket & the light will come back on. Naturally, I don't want to do this all the time & the truck has now become not safe at night as I never know when the light (or both) will go out.

I suspect a ground issue or the actual headlight switch.

Any ideas ?
Thanks, Bill

Ordered a new headlight switch

Looking back at intermittent light issues, there were times when I was trying to diagnosis this issue the tail lights and front yellow marker lights did not come on either. Seems there is a combination of things wrong here. So for now I have elected to order a new headlight switch. They are cheap & easy to change. I will report back on my results.

If I am barking up the wrong tree, someone please chime in. I just want to get this fixed.
thanks, Bill

Not the Headlight Switch

I replaced the headlight switch with a new one. Easy to do by the way.. But no change.. Did not solve the issue.. turned the lights on nothing. Pop the hood, took the bulb socket out of the headlight assembly- and the bulb light right up. The drivers side is easy to get to, but the passenger side is a lot more difficult to reach.

Can not drive at night without manually getting under the hood each time.

I just cant afford to take it to a dealer.. Any suggestions welcome...

thanks.
