rear end question
 

I have a 77 3/4 ton with a 10.5" full floater rear end. What would make the right brake area get soaked with differential fluid, when it is designed not to, with no axle seals?

what do you mean "no axle seals???"..there must be something there

No, the axles bolt to the drums, and you use gasket sealer to seal it there, but that doesn't seperate the fluid from getting to the taper bearings in the drum. It seems as though it was designed so that the fluid isn't supposed to go there in the first place???

Or, is the diff fluid supposed to get to the taper bearings? It looked as though they were lubed with wheel bearing grease. If it is supposed to, then obviously I just have a bad seal in the back of the drum. But I don't know if those bearings are lubed by the diff fluid, or wheel bearing grease.

The 90w lubes the bearings...the axle seal is inside the drum...fluid cis getting past that if the shoes are oily
