Rim fitment: Early vs. Late
 

Hi all; here's a complicated one: I have a 1951 Chev 3 ton dump truck. It has 20 inch rims (hard to get tires for) and the 'widowmaker' rims that are now illegal (habit of exploding when tires fitted to them). I want to fit later, one piece rims and modern tires. Steel rims are fine; this truck's not a looker anyway. I hear (not yet confirmed, really) that the five hole bolt pattern on my truck was used on much later trucks, like one tons, etc. I've scoured the local junkyards, but can't find any. I hear one tons used either 21 or 22 inch rims. Can anyone confirm what size I should be going for, as well as whether or not this rumour is true about later rims fitting my vehicle. They're five hole front and rear; rears are duals. Thanks for reading this, even if you can't help. Tim
