Default Help me choose my next truck

I'm looking for a used ext cab or crew cab full size 4x4 truck. I currently drive an ext cab colorado, that simply does not have enough room. My budget is between $8500-$9500 CDN ($5500-$6500 US) range.

I'm looking for a full size as a daily driver, but to also haul my kids to hockey and the ski hill. I drive 70 kms daily for work and will also be using it in the summer to pull a 5000 lbs travel trailer. As far as brands go, not stuck on any particular one, just looking for the best truck for my budget.

I have owned full size GM trucks, but would like to try something different (altho if the right deal came up, I would take it). I like the Fords interior, but I wouldn't take anything but the 5.0l coyote engine (no ecoboost or Tritons) which limits me to 2011 or newer with higher mileage. The Rams are nice, but I would also be in the 2009-2011 range with high mileage and their gas mileage (4.7 and 5.7) are quite bad. The Nissans are also quite bad on fuel.

Then there's Toyota. The second gen (2007-up) units are notorious for bad fuel mileage, and due to their resale value, are out of budget. However, the first gens (2000-2006) are in budget and seem to be half decent on gas (4.7). I also like the mid to full size of them as well. I actually found a 2005 Toyota Tundra crew cab 4x4 TRD with only 138,000kms (86,000 miles)in very good shape in my area, and with its 6800 lbs towing capacity, should do the job towing. (The frame is mint and zero rust)

So my questions is, would you hold out for a newer (2009-2011) higher mileage Ford or Ram (usually above 200,000 kms), or go with the older (13 years old) 2005 lower mileage Tundra?
