Best truck for snow plow blading

Hi folks- new here- just have one question-

Which trucks are best for doing snow plow work with a blade up front? I will eventually need to get one for this, to plow 1/2 mile of gravel road at 4000 ft in the California Sierras. I figure I'll get a used full sized pickup like maybe an F350 or the like. Do some of the older models have trannies that won't take this kind of use? Some models that are better for this kind of thing? Leaving it in 4wd low, pounding back and forth against snow banks- can't be easy on a transmission. Are some better for this kind of thing than others?

I figure I should get an automatic rather than clutch, cause of all the back and forth. Sound right?

And I'm wondering if diesel would be significantly better than gas for the low end torque?

Thanks in advance

Your right, automatic over standard transmission for plowing, do to the amount of back forth loaded driving will decrease the life of the clutch.

Diesel is good in the sents that plowing a half mile road would be easy on it's drive train. The truck would just need a tuner to adjust the turbo lag
