Press brake, engine & power shut down
 

Hello,

I have a 1996 Chevy Silverado 1500. Recently, when I press the brake, the engine and power shutdown. Originally I thought it was the after market remote start but we had it disconnected and the issue still exists. Doesn't happen all the time, just intermittent. It doesn't matter if I'm in gear or not, just once in a while I press the brake, the engine will instantly shut off, my dashboard and radio turn off for about a second and then comes back on. I am able to restart the truck afterwards just fine. I did some research where it's pointing to the EGR valve and/or brake booster, 1, truck doesn't idle fun or bog out, just an instant shutoff, and 2. i lose power as if I turned the ignition off, which this is what's throwing me off in diagnosing it. What do you guys think?
