Default Research on next truck

I am starting to shop for a new truck.

I would not be considering used

i would like as much opinion as possible so i can make an average to help me decide the way i will go.

I have been thru 2 gmc (2010 and 2013) with lots and lots of issue.

I would be reluctant of going back to gm but would consider it.

I am looking for a lariat/larami/whatever trim it is in gmc level.

4 door for the family 4x4 and 6 feet box.

either 1500 level or 2500 (with diesel) would be nice

Price is more or less an issue.

and right off the bat no i don't pull enough to justify a 2500 but if the diesel is worth it on the long run i will happily get one. (+ they look badass)

I am not after performance number, i am after gas mileage( in the truck range not something comparable to a nasa spaceshuttle mission) nice commodity and start every time it needs to and won't let me down half way there. Expansion for the future (fifthwheel, boats, atv, kids hockey tournament etc..)

sawmills this include muddy log yards, construction sites etc...

i travel 90% of the time for work in sawmills this include muddy log yards, construction sites etc... . Hotels, 40 under cold start at 4 am (you know the drill)

I am looking for long term reliability, i can't afford the truck to not start the morning of a project kick off.

I do every maintenance in the book at the dealer ship.

I use the block heater as availability permits.

I wish for something that would last me a long time i am tired of switching around every 3-4 years.

I know that mechanical being mechanical nothing is fail proof but i want to put as much on my side as possible

sorry for the average english (bad might be more appropriate)

and thank you for your time and answer.
