Towing Load
#2
Diesel's will DEFINITELY tow more.
I would look for any year Duramax or a Ford Powerstroke 03 or older or 2011 and newer depending on what your budget is. The cummins are good engines but I don't know much about them

The old 6 cylinder cummins were stump-pulling beasts, don't know about the newer ones. Power-stroke and Duramax both are strong engines. For the most towing capacity, you need a 1 ton truck (GM 3500, Ram 3500, Ford 350). The problem is, its very hard to find a newer one that isn't a dually. I'm not sure Dodge even made a 1 ton that wasn't a dually for several years. Fords seem to be the most common in this configuration.

So the Dodge Ram is only a 6 cylinder? Is that enough to pull loads like the Duramax and Power Stroke? I currently drive a 2002 F250 but it only has the 5.4L and I need more towing power. Also it does not turn as tight as some of the Dodges, have they remedied the turning ratios?

I just noticed you have a 98 Tj.... So do I, mines modified quite a bit.
