Trucks over 200k miles for $3-5k?
 

I'm not sure if I'm missing something here or not but seems like all the local classified have trucks from 2003 and prior with 200k miles or more and are still asking anywhere from 3-5k dollars!

I thought 200k would be nearing the end of an average trucks life so how can thru be priced so high?

What am I missing here or is it a sellers season right now?

When shopping private sellers, in pennsylvania, i wouldn't pay more than 1500. I'm inexperienced, and naive to an extent, but the truth is they're just not worth it. 3000 is reserved for A. Well taken care of truck + Good miles ~ under 150k

The only reason it would be more than 1500 is if it's a quad cab, and i'd probably consider maybe like 1800

Truck values are HIGH. Ridiculously HIGH.

Actually, used cars in general are high. What you'd expect to pay $3k for even ten years ago is now upwards of $5500.

Cash for clunkers decimated the used car and part market and it has not rebounded yet. I don't think I can find a good used GM or honda sedan built after 1990 for under $3k any more
