Ventshades: In Channel or tape-on?
I'm going to spend some birthday cash on a set of ventshades. What is your preference? In channel or tape-on. Going to go tomorrow.

I really do not know anything about them... sorry.
What did you end up going with? |
tape on are more secure, quieter.
in channel are cleaner looking but can be a pita if you have auto up power windows. |
I updated my post in GM trucks but not this one. I went with tape-on Autoventshade Ventvisors.
https://scontent-ord1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...44&oe=577BE1BB The guy at Advance Auto pretty much voiced my concern for me. He said, in-channel look great, but are you willing to mess up a $200 window motor over a visor? The answer is "no". I'm very happy with the results. When I bought the truck in August last year, I had 3 "must haves" I wanted. Running boards, a toolbox or tonneau cover, and ventvisors. Now I have all three! Now if one of you could help me talk my wife into a bull bar...... |
For ventshades, both types work. In-channel ones fit into the window channel and stay in place without tape. Tape-on ones stick to the outside of the window frame with adhesive. In-channel usually looks cleaner and can be removed without leaving residue. Tape-on is easier to install if the channel is tight or worn. For your GMC, either will work, but in-channel is often preferred for a longer-lasting fit.
