What to purchase: F450, Ram 3500 or single axle tractor?
Need some advice, The equipment I am towing for my business is usually between 16000-23000 lbs at most, depending on which machines I am loading, that includes the weight of my trailer (9,900). I am at a crossroads, anyone's input is greatly appreciated. I currently have a 2006 GMC 3500 Sierra, dually, all the bells & whistles but just purchased a new PJ trailer to haul the amount stated above. I don't know if I should go into a single axle tractor or go with either the F-450 or the Dodge Ram 3500, looking at both 2016 models. I do have other variables to list, it is somewhat a seasonal business and the equipment is mostly run within the confines of Long Island. I also have smaller equipment I move around with a small tag-along trailer. Thank you!

Ever thought of a Chevy C4500?
By the way, welcome to Truck Forums! |
We have a 2015 F-350 King Ranch Dually. Tows a 17,000lb horse trailer with 3 1500lb animals and gear no problem at all. You barely know it's back there.
Everything mentioned is a good option. The cummins would be great for the torque. |
